In this speech at the MIBI Annual Conference 2022, Tom O’Brien, MIBI Technical Claims Manager outlined the details of the new Irish Motor Insurance Database (IMID).

IMID will be a key tool in helping to clampdown on the level of uninsured driving on Irish roads, providing greater scope to the ANPR/ MTPL process. 

With approximately 1 in 13 private vehicles estimated to be uninsured the advance of this process is critical as Ireland seeks to reduce illegal uninsured driving.
