MIBI Celebrating International Women’s Day 2025

International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8, honors the achievements of women across all aspects of life – social, economic, cultural, and political – while also advocating for gender equality.
This year MIBI celebrated IWD 2025 with a fund raising coffee morning and presentation by our Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
IWD tell us that at the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity which is why the IWD campaign theme for 2025 is #AccelerateAction
Focusing on the need to #AccelerateAction emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. This year IWD calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.
One way we can all help Accelerate Action for Gender equality is to Support the Supporters. Women’s Aid Ireland, is once such supporter who are there to prevent and address the impact of domestic violence and abuse in Ireland. They are about, Listening, Believing, Supporting, Empowering.
MIBI are proud to support this charity and have matched the funds raised by our team coffee morning for this great cause.
